I have always been profoundly connected to the land and understand that it has been the memory keeper of our planet. The Sacred Grandmother series addresses climate change and is a documentation of a series of installations around an unusual rock on my farm. It is a personal journey of hope in the face of grief, with the ultimate desire, as an artist, to voice and share a sense of time, space, and community. The Sacred Grandmother is about love of the land, taking a simple focal point, and creating metaphors for our history, past and present, while offering hope for our future.
